New to me E63S

Hey all,

Coming over here from the w204 c63 boards. Picked up today, so I'm pretty tired, but standby for more to come!

Already have springs/links spacers and bolts. Renntech tune whenever I'm okay with letting the car sit for a few days to just deal with the back and forth shipping. Anddd maybe wheels but won't order until dead of winter deals.

Cheers

Great to see you here. Funny I also got an e63s in black

you realize this this all happened because of that thread you posted a while back in the w204 section warning us NOT to drive an e63s. Lol

^Right? And here we are... I slept a little funny last night knowing I'm getting the car today and had a little kink in my neck. Drove it home the 5 hours and was like, okay, one race start... Did it and it actually physically hurt my neck, will have to take it easy for a bit. I was used to my c63 but this is just a whole new league.

I can't wait to tune it.

Other things, delete ALL chrome. Trim, emblems, trunk, etc. to complete the black "night" theme. Also, there is an obvious clear bra on the front that I am going to have removed as well. Then add in the mode carbon CF bits and such.

Side note -- Has anyone ever had people flash them at night thinking your high beams were on? I was on the highway home behind someone at a good distance, 10 cars maybe, who stood on their brakes and forced me around the front and drove behind me with their brights on a good ways. Long enough to be annoying especially because I didn't have my brights on so I got behind them again, flashed the brights, and that was the end of that. I love these headlights.

Congrats on your purchase! Your car is my car's twin. I didn't want to have a few days of down time by shipping my ECU, so I went over to Powerhaus Performance in NJ and they dyno tuned my car. The whole thing took maybe 2 hours and their price is very reasonable!

So i got mine in black with carbon fibre bits everywhere instead of the night package which I think is gloss black.

Does anyone know if there is a price difference between carbon and night package?

I believe the exterior C/F package was $5,500 and the Night Package was $750.

Mine is listed as diamond white. Not sure how much of a difference there is but it looks amazing.

As for the CF package question, I believe it was answered but the CF package is more expensive.

This car is not fully loaded but really the only things it is "missing" would be the CCBs, Bang & Olufsen, and CF package. I would've REALLY liked the CF package and the Bang but I couldn't hear a difference between HK and Bang so I'm okay there. I can also always add CF to the interior down the road. But, not having the CCBs, thank god. Don't want that kind of replacement cost.

After a good day of driving this car around I am very happy with my decision. Kind of a bummer winter is coming and I won't drive it then but at the same time I'm also happy because winter aftermarket prices/deals are right around the corner which I'll jump on.

no I got mine off eBay piece by piece ( 3 piece kit of color, pearl and clear coat ) had I gone to the dealer they probably would of told me in needed more than just a color coat for my color car but I was trying to be thrifty 😀

gaspam - appreciate the feedback. checking ebay and found a dealer seller of the 755 / steel grey paint touch up kit for 20 bucks. seems easy to apply and for 20 bucks its not bad!!!

Does anybody know if MB makes factory black trim? I'll be honest and say I haven't searched yet so perhaps this is an obvious thing/question? I would just like to get rid of the silver around the windows. Also need to do the chrome door handles.

i know this doesn't answer your question but cheaper and easier to wrap ... less chance of rattles if disassembling and reassembling

to answer your question, I'm sure the 2016 Night series parts will fit your vehicle

^ Thanks. I was at a shop yesterday inquiring about painting everything because paint will look better than wrap but is more expensive. I may end up doing a mix match and wrap the door trim but paint the grill / emblems. Gloss black is gloss back so I'm not worried about them matching.

What worries me was the quick google search that came back with $250/door trim piece. No thanks, I could have the door trim wrapped annually and pay less. But, I'll keep digging.

Very nice - Love it!

The black lower door trim is standard on 2016 Night Styling. If you want the actual OEM black door trim parts use a VIN from a 2016 with Night Styling and order from a dealer.

Agreed. Wrap the trim and paint the grill. I had it all wrapped and its holding up well so far, but the star on the grill will peel eventually...edges are too sharp. The wrap folks who did the work told me if they were doing a project car they'd certainly paint the grill, not wrap it. Either way works, but apparently painting the grill will give you more mileage.
