New UPD filter and space gain

Agreed they look narrower but a wider piece can be used?

I doubt they would implode, but as an alternative can use rigid plastic as per 55k Intake set up?

They DO NOT contract, these things are thick and rigid.

Someone could easily spend some time and money to have a aluminum intake tube fabed up with silicone couplers.

Why can't something like this be made to eliminate the entire air box, seems like it would make more power in theory.

hahaha that's honestly what I wanted to do but some how turn that turbo tube to eliminate the need for all that extra hose.

Did you drive it like that? If so how was that?

It was weird threw off the Fuel Trims on bank 1 pretty bad. I'm JK. The intake I'm working on is similar to the RK intakes but routed a different way.

Haven't driven it without a filter like this before. Maybe I'll make a run when the tracks open up just for fun.

Heres the RK Intakes very clean and simple idea. Same power as the AMS from what Ive read. Ive been working on some like this but obviously not CF. Should net the same gains just not look as puurdy.

That RK kit has my fuel attention, I'd buy in a heart beat. Fill me in on what you're working on and parts needed, I'd love to build one my self.

whats RK stand for?

Crazy how how hard I search the net for things like this but never come across them.

Me and my friend did this setup for his E63 3 years ago

its PITA to keep removing the front bumper to replace intake filters

in some countries where dust is too much, its not practical

RK Autowerks. They are big in the BMW scene for custom intakes like this. All cf pieces too. I'm waiting on dynos and final pricing on these intakes for a while now. Will also included a new engine cover due to the removed airboxes.

So what did you think about the gains of this type? Besides the dirt intake?

Also you've claimed to have a custom intake on your car that makes more power and much better design but never share pictures or any insight on it, only laugh at everyone else's. Curious what kind of setup it is.

their website claims 22whp / 12 wtrq for $2,250... meh get a meth kit and make way more power, or get upd spacer kit as it made similar gains for almost $2K less
