Car not revving over 5000rpm

A few days ago I was out in the car with the wife. I wanted to play around a bit and put the car in S+, jumped on the throttle, car downshifted and started to pull but not hard. At 5000rpm, the car felt like it slammed into the rev limiter, upshifted and did the same thing in the next gear. I put the car in Manual mode and it wouldn't rev over 5000rpm.
Popped the hood and didn't see anything. No CEL, nothing.
Brought the car to Renntech, they test drove it. Car makes no boost and again not revving above 5000rpm. They put their scanner on it and find a stored knock-code. They clear it, and the car revs past 5k. A quick test drive, it made boost and went to redline but after the gear shift, it did the same thing.
They keep the car overnight and pull the front end off the next day to test the knock sensor. After they pull the front off, they find a mouse nest and my knock sensor harness has been eaten. F***in *******!
So Renntech is going through the car now to make sure the ******* is dead and to see if he got into anything else.
So a lesson learned, this car will 'throw codes' but never show a CEL. The car has a lot of safety parameters thrown into it to keep it safe. And its also a good idea to have a relationship with a shop that knows these cars

There are a lot of soft codes that are store in the ecu and will put the car into limp mode.

Wow that's crazy, glad you found the problem , your lucky you have Renntech so close. I just seen a YouTube vid and the guy stores his Porche for the winter he cuts small pieces of soap and puts it under the hood in a few places and anywhere else mice can get in , I guess they don't like soap.

I know this is a long shot but I've got the same issue. trying to figure out if there is a way to remove the 5k restriction w/o bringing it into the shop. I've got an odbii scan tool
