Just to update and close this story....

Took a week to get new front and rear rims. The correct ones were ordered but MB sent titanium color instead of matte black. Then dealer tried to align wheels but couldn't, front wheel was tilted 2.5 degrees and couldn't be corrected. Front strut, steering knuckle, bearing, and a few other minor parts had to be replaced. Took over a week to receive parts from Germany. Final cost was $2900 for tires and rims, $3000 for strut/knuckle/bearing/misc parts, $1000 labor, $100 wheel alignment, plus tax. Car is back to normal thankfully. Ended up going through auto insurance to cover damage.

Wow - $7k is no joke. Hopefully, the claim won't appear on Carfax!

With my luck, it probably will. But I'm planning to keep this car until used W214 (not a typo) hits the market or whatever Tesla invents after the Model S/3.

If you get the final invoice with all the before and after numbers this should not be a big deal for resale (IMHO). very different to a crash as many people drives and hit potholes and do nothing to remedy the impact of them. That is why I always do an alignment when putting a new set of tires.

Figure about $150 and a day to fix the rear rim. Every dealership has shop they outsource it to. Should come out good as new. Front looks pretty bad. I wouldn't fix that one.

I would just bring them the car and take a loaner while they get it all straightened out.

I believe if your going to stuff 390 mm brake rotors ( 15.3") in there you have to go to at least 19 and possibly 20" rims.
