Speedriven downpipes w/ECU flash
2014 E63 AMG S 4matic
After shopping around for several months I decided to go with Speedriven catless downpipes w/ their ECU flash. My decision was based on several factors (pricing, fitment, customer service, sound) amongst a few others. Customer service was critical since I live on an island that's five hours behind Eastern Standard Time and in the event I needed help I wanted to be able to reach out to them or at the very least have a fast response time. Overall I am very happy with not only the downpipes and the tune but also the relationship I now have with Speedriven.
Fitment: Excellent fitment. Total installation time took 3 hours in a friend's garage on jacks. Expect to cut in half if you go to a lift which is what I should have done. Unfortunately there was no instructions with the downpipes but like most exhaust systems it was pretty straightforward. I used Renntech's downpipes installation. FYI after the tunnel brace there is what looks like hangers that are there to help keep the stock downpipes in place that will not be used with the catless downpipes. This is no way affects the car negatively.
Sound: Cold start the car sounds incredible (will post video soon). Very aggressive. After several seconds car idles actually in my opinion lower than the stock downpipes. Any blip to the throttle and you can definitely hear the car roar to life. You can hear the turbos spool anytime you accelerate. On the highway the sound is slightly louder than stock but is completely different once you hit the gas. Not annoying but that's subjective and I'm the kind of driver who loves loud exhausts. I don't hear drone or feel vibration when driving in either normal conditions or when I'm driving spiritedly. Still currently debating if I do a muffler delete at this time.
ECU flash: Car has 21k miles with one month with the flash. Car performs significantly better than stock. Turbo lag is slightly felt in comfort mode still but if you hit the gas hard enough its hardly felt. Sport and Sport + the turbo lag is completely gone. Power is felt across the entire band with monstrous tq on the low end. Car will spin tires at WOT. Still using current spark plugs but will replace when it's time for my service A. When driving in normal conditions the upshifts are smooth and the car maintains lower RPMs in higher gears than the stock ECU which should result in better MPGs. Unfortunately I drive 99% of the time in Sport mode. As of now I've had zero problems with this ECU flash. I wanted reliable power and tq but requested a conservative flash since we have 91 octane where I live and there are no reputable shops I can go to that know how to work on AMGs should the need arise.
Customer service: Excellent customer service. If I call they usually answer unless they're busy on the shop floor. If not I leave a message or email and I get a response either same day or within 24 hours. I never had to wait more than 24 hours for a response with the exception of the weekends since they don't open Sat-Sun. They were very friendly and answered any questions I had regardless if they sounded stupid or not. I had many questions about ECU flashing for my E63 and although I'm not new to tunes since I previously owned an Evo that had 5 pro tunes throughout its life AMGs are still new to me and I wanted to make sure I was aware of everything I needed to know prior to shipping them my ECU. Turn around time for ECU flash was 5 days (2 shipping, 1 to do the work, 2 shipping). Anyone on the mainland would have faster turn around time but living on an island our fastest shipping is 2 day only.
I tried keeping this review as short and to the point as possible. If you have any questions you can either DM me or ask it on this thread. I will be posting videos outside and inside of the car very soon. I recommend Speedriven to anyone who's looking for downpipes, ECU flash, or both.

I had a similar experience with Speedriven. I bought their catted downpipes as I do not have an ECU tune. Last week I took to it to an Indy shop (Mercedes Specialists in Westminster, MD) for the install. It took about 2 1/2 hours. In 200+ miles no CEL (Thankful for that and knocking on wood). The sound is very similar in tone to stock...but definitely a little louder ...just not obnoxious. There is absolutely no drone or Vibrations.
The power delivery actually seems smoother and part throttle seems to have quicker pick up. I have some before vbox runs and track times, but I try to run in similar DA conditions. The weather has been too wet over the last 5 days for a proper comparison.
If you are looking for really loud, I would not recommend the catted system. Like I said it is definitely louder, just not crazy loud like most people who do exhaust mods are looking for. But I am satisfied, to me it feels a little more powerful and noticeably louder...kind of the combo I was shooting for.

would love to see dyno or 1/4 mile results with your set up which sounds awesome! i'm in chicago and agree speedriven is outstanding. have taken my c32 to them for several years and marcin and his crew know AMG's better than anyone. i'm still getting used to my e63s having owned it for only a few months, but would love to get some of the speedriven goodies on my car

Can you post some WOT logs of after the tune please?
Also just so you know that bar you removed underneath adds structural integrity to the chassis for better corner handling. I have speedriven downpipes and had to remove it also. The brace fits with Rado downpipes. I plan to make my own brace to replace it that clears the downpipes.
