No Blind Spot Assist - Should I pass on the car?
Found CPO 2014 CLS63S Designo that I want, color combo and all options less the Blind Spot Assist (Driver Assist Package).
Should I pass on this car if it does not have this option, or is this something that people live without just fine in 63?

What other options does it have... do you have a build sheet?
so weird not to have drivers assistance on such an expensive car.... designio at that

I find the feature to be annoying but I haven't turned it off. It causes me to second guess myself when changing lanes and adds that delay of "is that light orange or red?" Also, it continues to beep if you turn on your signal too early and already passed the car that was next to you. At the end of the day, I leave it on the thought that it might save me one day. I have turned off lane assist and the coffee cup though. Holy hell are those annoying.

What do you drive now? Are you used to blind spot assist?
If you've managed to go 10-20 years without hitting someone in your blind spot, I'd roll the dice if the price was right

I completely hate this "feature". On my cayenne, it is either orange or flashing orange (i.e- don't change lanes. There is no sound.
In this car, you CANNOT turn the crazy loud beep off which occurs all the time you don't want it to.
OP - go drive a car with the lane change and go try to change lanes on a busy highway going 50+ mph and tell me that you aren't annoyed about the beep warning you get.
I admit that I like the warning lights, but the beep almost makes me turn my system off...almost. Plus your passengers will always ask you what's going on.

The beeping is what caused me to stop using my turning signals which caused me to turn off the coffee cup. It's a vicious cycle I tell you!

what does the coffee cup thing even mean?

Coffee cup is separate from the vibrating steering wheel. The vibration is part of lane keep assist and the coffee cup is attention assist.

It is the same with Park Assist Plus, first time I used it, (some 30min after taking my car out of the dealer), it parked the car hitting the side of the front bumper on an electric post...
The nice scratch by Park Assist
The electric post:
After that, I got back to basics, as I've spent the last 21 years driving around without damaging my car a single time while parking it.

Now 360 cam is amazing and I would pass without that option

I thought lane assist actually dragged the inside brake to bring you back in the lane if you leave a solid painted lane without using the turning signal and the attention assist vibrated the steering wheel. In either event, both "features" suck donkey *****.

Interesting. How do we know if we have distronic?
my wheel vibrates when not using signal but never had it steer me back into my lane that I've noticed at least.

It supposedly learns and monitors you to make sure you're paying attention. If it decides you're not the coffee cup indicator lights to tell you to stop for coffee or something the raise your awareness. For whatever reason my coffee cup was always on...which is why it's now disabled. Stupid!
