2014 E63 AMG wagon
New owner

Greetings, I have been lurking a month or so. Picked up a 2014 wagon, 39k miles with a Mercedes warranty until 2019. Private seller. Pretty standard options. No B/O, rear entertainment or Drivers assist. Love the car and wagons, this was a no brainer upgrade from my Audi S6 Avant.

The poor car had not seen any wax for quite a while. I promptly sent it to the detailer for multi-stage paint correction, added Xpel's Ultimate clear bra to the front end, mirrors and tailgate. Then topped it all off with OptiCoat Pro+ for long term protection from the elements.

looks great and welcome - what did the paint correction and added extras cost you?

where are you located? Any plans to upgrade? i'm a newbie to this platform as well, but not to the AMG family.

I love the wagons, and the AMGs in particular. Enjoy.

Welcome, nice to see you finally picked one up! Are you going to roll the dice with a tune or keep it as is for now? Or perhaps other plans?

I'd like to get a tune, I'm only a hour or so from AMS so I would likely have them do it. It's still pretty new to me so it's not top of the list. Tint the windows, then maybe some wheels. I'm not a huge fan of the Blacked out AMG wheels.

Ah, how nice to have AMS so close. If you decide to modify performance in any way definitely give them a call.

I'll bet someone out there will swap wheels with you if you wanted and like the factory wheel design and just don't like the color. You could also have them powdercoated and just ride it out until you need to get a new set of tires and do it then.

Plenty of options for wheels.

2016 E63 Wagon
Welcome

Congrats and Welcome!

I received my 2016 wagon in a July of last year. First AMG. I was driving my 2007 Audi S4 Avant (6spd MT) prior. Plan to keep the new wagon stock just as I had the Audi.

Great color! Looks like your car has the "Night Package" too! Looks great on that color. I really need to tint the windows....

Thank you! It does, indeed, have the night package. I felt it was a must after spending 9 years with my black Avant that had chrome trim everywhere.

CMG Detailing in Cedarburg!! I had them do the Xpel film install on my Porsche last year. You're only about 10 miles away from me.

I'm maybe 15 miles south of Cederburg. Sconnie is well represented here.

Do you miss the 6 speed? I almost bought a CTS-V wagon because of that alone.

Welcome!

While I most definitely miss the 6spd manual the switch (after driving manual for the past 25 years) hasn't been as bad as I thought it might be. Don't get me wrong, I'd prefer to have a manual but the transmission suits this car just fine. I suspect my adjustment was made easier because I had approached it with the right mindset: I expected to be really disappointed and I'm simply mildly annoyed at times. The sound of the engine is a wonderful tonic.

Now if Audi would just bring their wagons back to North America...
