Tuning Scene. AMG vs M

As a whole the M scene is obviously far ahead. But what about between e63 and m5? Seems like all we are getting is overpriced exterior parts lips and diffusers. Performance wise we have not reached the full potential of our drivetrains either. Share your thoughts on tuning scene between AMG and M division.

chiromikey 03-30-2017 12:02 AM

We still can't fully tune w211s that are 14 years old so there's no comparison between tuning. MB tuning is a joke!

Fairbird 03-30-2017 03:47 AM

everything been said hundred times .

Stop trolling..
At least pure turbo is interested in this platform. Hopefully they show good results.

CarHopper 03-30-2017 12:22 PM

^They already have results out.

I'm just referring to the power figures that are in that one pure turbo thread that is floating around here.

As for times / track results idk yet. I feel like the numbers haven't been put out for a reason... You know, like, how as much as me want it and as much as we try you're only shaving off a couple tenths over a standard tune / dp setup.

I mean real life results against the competition. Such as 1/4 mile, 1/2 mile, roll events etc.

I call this no result , do you want to see dodge tuners results thread ? Lol

From what I can tell there isn't really any results out for those yet and my gut says there is a reason for that.

chiromikey 03-30-2017 01:35 PM

One of the reasons, possibly the main reason, is that the tracks have been closed in that part of the country. Hopefully now that they're opening we'll see track results. Keep in mind, other cars from that tuner/dyno put up record numbers at the track.

I agree. Just entertaining the OP with some kind of results (being power) as I took his post as not knowing that those figures were at least floating around. And then there is this...

I look forward to the incoming season up here where these pure built cars are located so hopefully we get an idea of the times sooner than later.

You are a troll, and you don't own either of the cars in question. Prove me wrong troll.

AWD>RWD
M5>E63 (because of aftermarket world)
So, considering the next m5 will be awd theres no reason to look at e63 anymore. Because Im pretty sure the AMG scene will be forever stuck in a mud. Im willing to bet many members here will move on to m5 as well. The next m5 will have awd and bigger engine... The most common reason why people buy e63 (and AMG in general) over m5(M products)

Uhh.. yeah, so again what's the point of you making threads about starting a debate on E63 vs M5 again? Your mind is clearly made up, you like the M5 so go buy one. It's no secret BMW has much more tuning and aftermarket support than any other German brand. AMG scene isn't "stuck in the mud", have a look at C63 platforms, plenty of aftermarket support there...

And at the end of the day it's just preference, buy what suits your needs or you like best, no need to come here and convince other people the M5 is better than their car. Nobody cares.

PeterUbers 03-30-2017 03:29 PM

The benz seems to be more reliable lately than //M products and v8 bmws

So why bother even coming here?

Enjoy having the M at the dealer every 5 minutes.

Im sure they care. If they didnt then nobody would be on this forum. Stop trolling. Well maybe you're right because theres only several active members here. So i guess nobody cares :)
This awd platform should be on the higher level than C class. It came with twin turbos from factory unline the C class (w204). AWD is superior then rwd in m5. E63 should be holding speed records in straight line or around the track. The cars are losing value. The people buying this cars used are not going to be spending 3k on lips and diffusers.

notatroll 03-30-2017 03:35 PM

This is not an S class. This is a performance oriented AMG model. Mercedes should let full access to ecu. Wouldnt that be nice?

A whole lot of "shoulda coulda woulda" from you.

And I, as a forum member and an AMG owner, don't care about your blather.

And, stop feeding the troll, guys.

where do you get it having a "bigger engine" makes it any better?

current e63 has a bigger engine yet your coming and saying m5 is better with a smaller one

maybe some people enjoy the fact that a simple tune on a 4500+ lbs gives it enough torque to kill an M5 at lower speeds (think of streets)

Im not saying bigger is better. But I can see how you got confused. No harm.
How much does that simple tune cost and is it simple really? Compared to m5.
