Hey guys, has anybody here managed to remove the silver window trim along the top of the car?
I want to start poking and prying with a screwdriver, but before I do...I'd like to make sure I'm not missing a trick and about to snap something important etc
I have on my 2014. They are held on by about a dozen clips. Simply take a body trim removal tool and place it between the trim and the roof, and gently pry. The clips will pop out and the trim piece comes off. My were sturdy, but none of them broke. Hope this helps.
Ok so I made progress and managed to get the trim off. Top tip for anybody that wants to get it off with fewer heartbeats that I had - there's a little opening which you can see from the corner of the trim near the wing mirrors....poke your screwdriver in there and it'll enable you to get the first clip off....you'll be able to carefully pry n pop the rest off from there. Pics for reference:
Here's the little recess:
Now....anybody care to share wisdom on the two flat pieces which contain the rubber strip for the windows?
I'm thinking that I just need to be brave and pry them upwards because I can't see a little screw anywhere which normally secures these things on, on other cars...
