Car cover and hood ornament

Car cover and hood ornament
I would like to buy a car cover for my car W212 E63 sedan (2012). Based on prior car cover ownership I would thing the hood ornament would either wear through the cover...or the cover might do something to the ornament. The car is mostly in a garage, but if outside for some reason I usually cover it.
1. Should I consider this?
2. Do any covers accommodate the ornament?
Recommendations are much appreciated. By the way....my local Mercedes dealer (Stevens Creek, CA) no longer sells car covers??? They said they may start again some day but for now they are not available.
