Boost data not available when logging
Looking for an education, pls. Car is definitely making boost, but for some reason, the ECU is not reporting boost values via my odb datalogger, real time or in files. All other variables are reported properly. Is this a sensor issue only? Possible it is affecting the function of the car?

Will get it checked when back with the car; curious if anyone can frontload me with some info.

What app are you running? I'm running OBD Fusion and if I use the SAE PID for boost it won't report any data but the calculated PID does.

Running torque. Odd thing is that boost has always been reported just fine...dropped out now for some reason . Thanks man

Try updating the app or reinstalling it, or try a different OBD2 dongle. The app doesn;t use the sensor directly only the pid from the can bus. If the MAP sensor wasn;t working, you would know it. Car would not run right and you would have a code thrown.

Also make sure you are using a good Bluetooth dongle. The cheaper ones suck and do all kinds of wierd ****. I use kiwi Plx. I also use the vacuum/boost PID

And if you're using an iPhone, make sure it's wifi instead of Bluetooth!

When I log boost it usually calculates off the map sensor instead of the boost pressure sensor. the reading it gives also seems way low when comparing with my boost gauge mounted in the car. Havent been able to figure it out. Tried every app out there for iphone and even when it says boost. If you look at which PID its using, its calculating from the map sensor and Baro sensor.

Torque has one called turbo boost and vacuum gauge and it pulls from map. Seems to work just fine out of box. Not sure how accurate it is vs a dedicated one plumbed into vacuum, but now that I have tapped the IM for BOV I might add dedicated boost monitoring.

'turbo boost and vacuum gauge' is the one I've always used. Only recently did it start sending only zeroes. All other data are reported fine currently. Will be with car again this weekend and playy around with it.
