How would running a square set up work on 4matic? I did the square set up thing for too long on my old Subby, staggered all the way now for me! lol! I'd be interested in seeing what 285/30 would look like on a 9.5" wheel. BTW, I know you had Kmac camber paltes installed on your fantastic-wagen and I know that they move the whole strut inward and outwards without changing how the wheel/tire sits in relation to the strut. I have read that there is only minimal camber adjustment via stock hardware (or was that TOE adjustment?)... would you happen to know if stock adjustments of camber work the same as with camber plates (only with less range of motion?) I ask b/c I might be interested in dialing in a bit more negative camber up front and I dunno if I wanna go the camber plate route (due to cost, of course).
As for square, I imagine it's fine since MB says 255/35R19 for winter.

Just a bit of an update (for those who are interested in running a set up with these specs, of course). I have discovered there is a bit of rubbing against the fender liner when turning under certain conditions (I suppose... the right amount of turning and suspension compression). I will try to upload pics when possible. So far, I have not felt nor heard any rubbing, but it is obvious it is happening since I can see it on the fender liner.

i just bent 2 wheels on a huge pothole, got new ones and im thinking about trying to go to a 275/35 in the rear. im on Vogtland springs

Based on your values, I am guessing you are slamming your car and stretching the heck out those tires. This is an area of wheel fitment I know nothing about. I personally would never mount a 235 on a 9.5" wheel nor a 265 on a 11". Sorry I can not be of help.

I am guessing you are trying to go with JDM wheels? Works? I wanted to go that route. I got in touch with Evasive Motorsports and, long story short, as they supposedly got in touch with Work in Japan, they pretty much said that none of their Zistance wheels would fit the E63, let alone with CCBs. It was up to me if I wanted to to order a set of wheels for they would NOT guarantee fitment. That whole A, B , W, R disk thing was and still is a head scratcher for me.

guess the "disk" thing is explained for the type of look and clearance. also the tpm / vale stem mounting is terrible imho. probably going to sell and get some vossen 3 piece. it took 3+ months from japan for replacements to arrive

275/30 rear is about all you can do with that setup. 275/35 will fit in the back (without upper camber arms) but you would need more tire in the front to get the diameters closer.
If you go 275/35 in the back do a 245/40 in the front for more pothole protection and a happy 4matic. Still stretched (not my preference) but not as stretched as before.

those specs and tires came on the wheels used from a W212. They are Work CR2P Bronze barrel with matte black centers. run fine on the car now, just need to get the biggest tire possible. i have a 275/30 mounted on 1 rear wheel and it looks much better stretch wise. im just running drop springs

Yes, as I had understood it, the disk thing is about how concave the face of the wheel would be, but what I meant was, I never understood how anyone could quantify in mm or inches if I need a R disk or a W disk. At one point I thought that disk type would solely be dependent on offset, but, then I thought I saw wheels of the same size with different disk choice.... That's why I went BC. They guaranteed fitment and I had them in my possession in less than 7 weeks (not to say that they were THAT on point with offset... I still have to run spacers to get them to where I want them to be).

Thanks for the illustration. It doesn't look as stretched as I had thought it'd be. Do E550's have conventional shocks/ struts + springs on all 4 corners? (No air springs in the rear?)
