Limited slip Diff
I purchased my 2011 E63 used. I am the second owner. I just printed the build sheet thanks to a different listing. It reflects that the vehicle did NOT have a limited slip differential at build time.
Two seperante mechanics have told me that the vehicle does have a limited slip. How can I determine if it does or doesn't?

What method did your mechanics use to make that determination? Our open diffs behave more like an lsd so I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re mistaken.

The most fun way to tell is to turn stability control off, and try to do a nice curved line burnout. If it leaves two curved black lines on the pavement then it has LSD.

Assuming I do not have a limited slip diff, What brand and specs would you recommend??

I put a Quaife in my E55 but to be honest I would spend your money elsewhere. Our open diffs are pretty good at putting power down to both wheels. People that like to track these cars on a road coarse might have different advice but for street or drag race applications I just didn’t see enough, if any, improvements.
