Need new brake on 2011 E63
My 2011 E63 needs new brakes at 56K. I have been lucky to have them last so long and now they need to be replaced. After getting multiple quotes from dealerships at around $4K, does anyone have a recommendation on replacements? I have an independent mechanic that works on AMGs and he recommends going with the OEM brakes and rotors. He will do the replacement at around $3K. Should I look at aftermarket rotors and pads? Any suggestions or recommendations?

For the front, so you can just replace the rings in the future, I would go with one of the followings:
http://www.girodisc.com/
or
https://www.racingbrake.com/
For the rear, the oem should suffice because of the low price. Of course, you can also go with either companies' rear offerings if you put more $ into the replacement.

Just sharing some info on mine. Not sure where you are but I had my rear brakes done for $1k in San Carlos, CA by a reputable MB independent and they used genuine MB parts. This was done at 53k mi.and at that time the fronts were still in good shape. I don't have ceramic either.
