2012 E63 front pad replacement
Does the front caliper have to come off or can the pads be pulled out by removing the ' center ' bolt on the caliper. Thanks for any and all help.

The center bolt just holds that cylinder shaped brace in there. Remove the bolt and pull the brace out to remove and install the new pads. Should not require removal of the caliper itself unless you are replacing the rotors. In that case, remember to replace the mounting bolts.
Just make sure to reinstall that brace after you install the new pads and don't leave anything loose
