AMG Door Pins on 2015 E63 AMG-S

I was searching online to replace these ugly black plastic door pins with a nice solid looking metallic AMG door pin. Didn't find much about people installing them on a 2015 so I strolled into the dealership and talked to the parts guy. He did some searching on his computer and said it was weird that the 2015s didn't seem to have that part listed, but since not much has changed I'm guessing he looked up the part number for an older car. Got the part numbers for the front and the rear A0007660228 & A0007660328 from him and shopped online for them. Most of the online parts fitment tool says it wasn't going to fit after I entered my car's VIN, but I was going to try it anyways. They came in not long ago and I tried them out. They did not fit. They're just too short. I screwed them almost all the way down and it was still pretty loose, but it didn't seem right, so I just tried to lock the door and they pretty much just sink all the way into the hole. I took some pictures of what I got and how it looked like after locking the door without even screwing them all the way in yet. Does anyone know if there are part numbers that actually work for this car?

Screwed the AMG door pins almost all the way down, but it seemed like it was too low when unlocked, so I tried to lock it before I screwed them down any further and it sunk into the hole.

The height of the AMG door pin I got was way shorter than the black plastic one that came with the car.

Nope ... that's how they are ... it's a bit of a safety issue ... they sit flush or deep in the rear and slightly taller in the front

and unfortunately in the rear doors just toggling the door handle on US w212 models does NOT pop the rear door locks

beware

That's why I left the rear door pins stock. I don't sit back there and can't see the pins thru tinted windows.

For the front door pins, I screwed them down so they are nearly flush with the trim when locked and used Loctite to keep them from spinning.

Ah okay, I'll try using Loctite for the fronts to keep them higher up and forget about the rears then. Thanks!

I thought this height looked best.
