Hello everyone, seeking advice on a S212
Hi everyone,
Longtime lurker here, reading and looking at everyone's wonderful purchases. Glad to report that I'm finally at a position and place where a E63 has become a possibility!!
I've read up as much as I can and I think the only thing I can ask is owner advice and opinions. There are currently three E63's I'm looking at but gosh it's a tough choice. They all have their tradeoffs.
So here are the options;
1. Blinged out '14 E63 with factory carbon fiber options and pretty much all other options. BUT...previous owner modded with front springs to lower them along with adjustable link in the rear. (KW springs). OEM springs available. Lowest mileage (just barely).
2. '14 E63 from benz dealer with CPO and option for extended factory warranty
3. '16 E63 from benz dealer with 10,000miles more than option #2.
I guess in your owner opinion, what makes the most sense? Newest with highest mileage? one with CPO? YOLO, the blinged out?
Thanks for your inputs! This truly is a 1% first world problem.

Well I'd go with #3 as you didn't mention price.
Number out is out as most people avoid modded cars as who knows what else they may have done with it.
Number 2, well the longest you can get a CPO warranty is 3 years so it's basically 7 years unlimited miles.
With a 16, you'd still have the factory warranty plus one year of CPO and you can buy 2 additional years from one of the vendors in the extended warranty subforum.

Price would need to be posted... cuz if $ didn't matter I'd get the '16 outta these options AND bling it out... hell... if $ didn't matter I'd get w213 and bling it out

Haha, fair enough. they're all listed within a few thousand of each other so not too much difference. So the forum is leaning more towards newer model with 10000miles more on it (it's at 40000miles).
Shying away from the modded one as who knows what else was done to it. It does come with clearbra and winter wheels though.

Personally I would leave as is. I didn't touch mine at all. Still haven't. Not even tinted windows being in Florida. My trim the natural ash wood. Beige interior. Garage kept. Let those think it's a slow E class Sedan. But do whatever makes you happy and enjoy the engineering behind it. I, my family we have always been please with the reliability, performance of the MB vehicles. Besides if you acquire the W212 MY 2016 E63S It's the last of its kind.

If prices are the same I'd go with option #1. Let someone else pay for the mods and still have the lowest miles on it seems like a good deal. You can always buy a warranty

wow a resurrection from the thread grave. carid's bot script is malfunctioning.
Here's what happened after this happy dilemma. I decided it wasnt the right time and held off. So instead, I bought a used 2010 e63 for 20k.
I've never had high performance cars and had no idea what to expect. This e63 was a low risk strategy to get a concept of what these cars are, what they're like, if they're able to work for me, if I can live with them.
It was pretty fantastic. After 7months I traded it in at a benz dealer for a '16 e63 wagon. Ear to ear smiles every mile and kilometers.

Buy the '16. Most modern comand makes the car seem much less dated. Also, you can add car play/AA which improves the user experience significantly. 360 camera (if so equipped) is light years better on the newer version. Not sure where you're located, but the MY16 cam in Canada only one way; Avant-Garde package (all available options equipped) because of final year of model.
Extend the current warranty, and get the 16
Edit:whoops, didn't realize this thread was back from the dead! I'll leave my reply in posterity lol
