2014 E63 AMG S Non Stock Wheel

Has anyone tried a higher aspect ratio tire on the stock rims? The ride can be very jarring here in NY on the summer rubber. And I almost feel the car might have better dynamics on slightly more pliant shoes.

Mine came with 245/40/19 F and 275/35/19 R (instead of 255/35/19 and 285/30/19). It rides OK. Have you tried the softest setting on the dampers and Comfort mode?

Do you genuinely think he somehow hasn't tried his car's default mode? FACEPALM

Yes of course. Anything but the comfort setting in NYC/Westchester is too hard. I want to find out if anyone has tried /40 aspect ratio on this car. The wheel wells seem to have plenty of clearance once the car is running. The M5 has always chosen the slightly taller tire and it might just do better here in the NE. I'm due a full tire replacement, so before I buy the OEM I want to exhaust this option.

GM. As stated, my car came with a 245/40 in the front. It fits and drives with no rubbing under any condition (as per online tire calculator, even the 245/40 is a bit taller than stock. 661.1mm vs 678.6mm in diameter). However, keeping the stock width (255 and 285) and upping the aspect ratio MAY cause issues (be it physically rubbing or with car's electronic). Definitely will cause issues with speedo for the set up will be too tall (686.6mm). Sadly, I never drove the car with stock sized tires so that I could give you proper feedback. And, all joking aside and making light of the situation, you have also set the damper to NO LIGHTS ON (softest) in addition to C... and you still find it too harsh? I feel this setting makes the car too bouncy... specially on bumpy roads. GL on your search.
