Pop and burble tune
I went for a ride in a CLS63 that has an OE tune with an added "pop and burble". Sounded BA. My RENNtech rep said he'd look into it for me but as of now they don't offer it. Anyone here have it?

not aware of a tune which gives "pop and burble" except if you run richer and the pop comes from fuel burning off in hot exhaust.

I have a Renntech tune and an X pipe in place of the resonator and while
it does pop and burble some it’s nowhere near what that CLS sounded like.

I'm interested in see anybody else have burble tune or something like that too. I haven't see any videos of E63 snap crackle and pop like some other 5.5 63s.

I have a buddy that tuned his G37 for $500 and now his car pops nonstop during deceleration. Almost sounds like an AK47 going off lol. It sounds pretty insane. I think it’s achieved by unburn fuel left in the pipes so it pops. Some will even have flames coming out lol. Must be tuning the fuel management to make it pop like crazy.
I am curious if any tune can achieve this for our cars.

I know OE tuning can do it as the one I was in was tuned by them, sounded very good. Problem is I’m already tuned with Renntech and am not willing to 1. Pay for another tune and 2. Give up my Renntech for a pop and burble. Was told by my Renntech rep that he’d look in to it for me. Crossing my fingers.

Anybody got sound clips of what our cars sound like with the burble tune?
I know they a have it for the BMWs and the new 4L engines on the newer AMGs. Crazy pops

Coming from a straight piped C63, this car is quiet like a mouse

[QUOTE=patrickkc;7473709]I am just deciding if I wanted to tune this car since it feels very quick to me already, but the sound is very disappointing. I will most likely get them to put a tune in the E63. They tuned my C63 too
If you want sound, a simple solution is muffler delete and replace with straight pipe. This will bring out the V8 sound and more crackles with minimum drone.

I have a muffler delete on my 14 E63 and while it was much louder than stock it was still quiet for my taste. (I had a CL55 with Kleemann headers straight to mufflers prior)
That being said, I did a cat delete on the E63 and it still sounds a little tame except for when at WOT. Thinking about doing an H pipe to remove the resonator as well. Does anyone have a video of this burble tune by any chance?

The resonator has a cross over portion but that's not the reason it dampens sound for our exhausts.
ive heard the 3 custom setups in person. Sorry I do not have video.
But cat delete, resonator delete and mufflers installed is raspy and gives pops on downshifts.
Cat delete, resonator installed, muffler deleted drones a bit but burbles on deceleration slightly but could pass for an incredbily loud OEM setup.
Cat deleted, resonator deleted and mufflers deleted (true straight through) is pretty savage and sounds great at WOT. Keep in mind these are primary cat deletes and not true custom built Downpipes. Also spoke to the person with an X pipe prior and he told me he had issues with oil temps exactly afterwards. That makes 0 mechanical sense to me but that being said, I've heard his car with an H pipe and I love the sound so, gonna go that route.
Correction! it was the straight pipe for the resonator delete that the car didn't like. My apologies. Still doesn't make sense but I can image the car having to work harder to evacuate exhaust without a crossover to help scavenge.

If you think of how air flows than the X makes much more sense than the H. I went with an X pipe in place of the resonator which sounds great. Hopefully RENNtech can add the pop n burble to my existing tune as that sound is IMO not achievable with any other exhaust setup.

If it's anything like the C63, a be way too loud and too much drone.
I am probably going to start off with resonator delete with straight pipes first and see what happens.

As stated previously, I'd definitely suggest against a straight pipe for the resonators. Put some kind of cross over pipe in it so each bank can help the other scavenge, that being said, straight pipes will probably crack and pop a bit more on deceleration. Also, a muffler delete gives the car a much deeper sound than resonator delete. But that's about all the information I have on these setups. I hope this helps some with their decisions.

Was this the car from D2? Silver with bronze AG wheels? He has an X-Pipe and is OE tuned but he has some other stuff as well. I think he owns D2 as well and is an OE reseller. Also on a side note are you the black E63 with custom legacy plate in spanish? if so I bought your diffuser a few years back. Hope you are doing well.

You’re also right about my car except the plates are not in Spanish. I do remember you coming by to pick up the diffuser. Hope you’re also doing well!

I got a guy in Brooklyn that does custom tunes that is better then some of these off the shelf tunes like OE or Euro. (No offense to anyone from them) He has done a CLS63, C63, C55, E63, and the list goes on. When it comes to a performance upgrade or even backfire you’ll hear the car from miles away. Look him up on Instagram @brooklyn_euro
