7G tronic Selective range sesnor replacement?

My brother's e250 threw into neutral and Engine light popped up, he checked the code with a reader, turns out the 7g tronic selective range sensor needs to be replaced, the error code is y38s1. I have done some research, the sensor alone cannot be replaced, the whole circuit unit (RS CTRR. UNIT ELECTROHYD) needs to be replaced which is fine. But according to

https://nemigaparts.com/cat_spares/e...asis=212047D02

(((120))) there are 5 different part #s for the circuit board, which i cannot identify which one his tranny has. He has no access to a lift, we would to like get a shop to take the circuit board out and send it to circuit board medics to get it fixed, but since no shop it willing to take it out and let him leave the car at the shop, we would like to get a refurbished unit, but we still need to find out which one his car have in order for us to purchase the correct one, then we can register it to the car. Does anyone know how to find out the the part# of the circuit board without dropping the trans pan?
