Consider buying 2016 E63s
I am looking to purchase a 2016 E63s with 8000 miles. How reliable is the engine, transmission and suspension? Anything in particular that is problematic? Thanks

Hey , made a thread very similar to yours just recently . Would like to hear more, but so far these sound solid, aux. batteries & small software updates is all that I have seen so far going wrong. I was looking into purchasing one around 50k miles. Haven't found out yet how the turbo longetivity is, & if engine must be removed to replace them . Aftermarket warr. might be a good idea once out of mb's . Ill watch your thread as well, maybe some more owners will chime in.

Buy it and don't look back
the smile from your face will never fade
and when and if it does ... tune it

Mine MY2016 E63S is not a daily driver at all. Barely drive it however I still feel E63S> E63

I use my E63S as a daily driver ... it's quite comfortable and awesome to get into each and everyday

- extra power
- red calipers
- LSD
- nicer steering wheel and alcantera
- exterior upgrades cosmetically
- knowing you have the best version of something

I'll for sure tune/downpipes. Only power difference between the two is S has a better tune to get that extra HP?

Also, the S version has an electronic differential and, if I remember correctly, greater cooling capacity (at least with the 2014 model - you should check this for later years).

tune and downpipes for S and non S will net same power to the wheels and arguably same 1/4 mile times but since so few people post who have tuned nonS 2014+ e63's... there's not good data on that
most used nonS e63 will be from rental companies I would think ....

im not sure the S has the e-LSD until 2018

Also, on the LSD, it is a fully locking LSD. So the rear end is definitely better in the S

Also 2014 was the only model year that MB brought the non-S to the US. So if you were specifically looking for 2015-2016 you would not have seen any (at least US models).

I Love MINE!!! I fear nothing on the street. Because its a well kept secret, I love to dust Mustangs at the stop light and Camaro's in the "twisties". I've had people catch back up and want to know what I am driving. You will not be disappointed!!!

I agree. Nothing better than seeing inferior mustangs, camaros, challengers, chargers, corvettes be left in the dust when in the states. I love all my rides. My 2016 E63S is a purchase I don't regret. It's pound for pound the best MB.

I've been considering selling my current setup to jump into a single all around car. The E63 is definitely one of those cars, but so is a RS7. Any of you guys consider the RS7 before going in on the E63?

Don't care for it. The exterior like a frogs rear end or a Saab and interior seems tacky overall look soft. The E63S is a Bull Beast on the road go with that.

Necro post alert.
Mine will be here Fri or Saturday. After reading this thread, I cannot wait. It has 20K miles and is a CPO.
I bought my wife our first MB this year, a 19 GLS and really like these cars. So the dealer showed me the 19 e63 on the lot when he saw my CTSV. No way I am buying a new car for myself. I asked him to get me this 2016 and he pulled it off!
