Brakes for 2014 E63 AMG-S (Distronic)
At what mileage did you have to get your brakes replaces/rotors? The dealership is telling me I would need to get a brake job at 30000. The service brake light hasn't even come on yet and I'm at 27K.

I'm cool with that instead of someone just saying it has to be done at 30000 miles without even looking at it. Its scheduled for services in 2 weeks. Have you completed the 40000 mile or 4 year service? I was surprised when they hit me with a $2000 service especially since all the others have been between $400 and $900.

Peter - are you still on your original rotors? Dealer telling me at 28k miles I need new rotors and pads on all 4 corners. Rear rotors and pads were replaced when i bought the car CPO 2 years ago with 13k miles, cannot believe they wear at 15k miles when i have never tracked the car and its driven 6-7k miles a year.

So I see you had trans and rear diff service included. These are bigger hitters. And the 4 wheel alignment that the dealer recommends? Don't get me started on that bs. They try to sell that everytime they can. "oh, I swerved the other day suddenly in the road, but didn't hit anything" Dealer: "well it would probably be a good idea to have alignment done". Oh brother! If you don't see unusual tire wear or feel the car pulling to one side, then you likely don't need that. Also, I have had them do it in the past only to have the alignment worse afterward. Then had to take it back again. That's all I got. Good luck. BTW, Peter is correct about the prepaid service bundle. I have it on all of my MB's. Saving me a lot of $$.
