Limp mode
I recently purchased a 2011 E63 and was getting on it in sport mode when the car when into neutral and I coasted to the side of the road, turned off car and checked under the vehicle and found no leaks are anything so turned on the car and it functioned normally. Went beck into drive and all transmission shifts are normal again. Does anyone know why it would put the tranny in neutral when in sport mode not manual shifting.

Use the key instead of the push button to start and shut off the car. If your car enters limp mode and goes into "neutral" you can use the key to turn the ignition off and start it up while the car is still coasting. Sometimes it's very difficult to pull over depending on the road situation. This way you have the option of pulling over if you want to or restarting while the car is coasting.
I logged while this happened and noticed the RPM had risen to over 6900 so I believe exceeding redline rpm could have triggered what you're describing, either due to transmission slip or some other cause perhaps.

Thanks, I noticed that it was at redline when this happened, I just added a pulley from agency power, wondering if this could have caused. I ordered a flash and tuned also after the pulley was installed.

2014 E63S; AMS 100 octane ecu tune; edok tcu tune; BB intakes; dyno tuned
also a crank shaft pulley or just accessories? Get rid of them

Pulley AND a tune? Bingo! Somewhere in this combo lies your issue I would say. What does the pulley gain you? I had a Eurocharged tune through the OBD for an extra ~25Hp but was not aware of a pulley mod. Just curious if you really need the pulley. Maybe keep your tune and lose the pulley if it keeps happening.

I am having second thoughts with the pulley as well. It does rev quicker and noticed some gains, Agency Power claims 12 hp gains. I just purchased a set of MBH long tube headers and when I install very likely lose the pulley.
