Engine swap help
I have a 2011 e63 AMG and the engine blew up, so I’m looking at some engines rn, I’ve seen on some websites and forums that the (CLS, CLK, E) AMG models from 07-2011 have the same engine m156 so I wanna ask someone who knows what he’s saying if this swap will work or not
thanks
thanks

Sorry to hear of your misfortune. I was there with my 2011 and spun rod bearing. I was lucky enough that my 3rd party extended warranty covered the new crank, rod and main bearings, and new rod.
Can you share more specifics on what exactly was involved with “blowing up your engine”?
I am just wondering if bottom end failures on the 156 is more common than MB would like us to believe.
As I recall, you can likely find decent used motor from a wrecking yard for between $6k and $12k depending on miles.
Good luck man. It sucks to go through this.
