First oil and air filter change, and a beautiful drive.
EWK 15L Extractor
Biggest tube forms a perfect seal within a few inches.
Dirty air filters!
On a hill.
Hi all!
I bought a certified 2016 E63 S with 22k miles last year, and have been enjoying it and this forum since. Today I succeeded at some DIY work thanks to this forum, and wanted to share!
The E63 now has 27k miles, so I decided to change the oil, oil filter, and air filters. Bought an EWK 15L extractor, Mobil 1 Formula M 5W-40 oil, and new OEM oil & air filters from Amazon. The largest tube of the extractor snugged into the top of the dipstick -- maybe 4 inches -- and created a perfect seal for extracting. Took maybe 10 mins to get all the oil out. 9qt of new oil and new filter went back in.
I was amazed at how dirty the air filters were at 27k miles, and that they hadn't been changed yet. Glad I changed those too!
After I got everything buttoned back up, I went for a short, beautiful drive up in the hills. The weather cooperated and I got a couple good pictures of the landscape and this mighty car!
Got home, double checked the oil level. Everything's perfect.
So, thanks again for this forum! And thanks to MB for this wonderful bit of engineering!
