Data logging (and data loggers)
Folks, I am looking for a new method of logging boost, IAT, timing , knock, etc. In the past I have used Innovate (did not like), I just bought the new Kiwi 4 (their app keeps crashing and can't find one that works), Zeitronix (I used on the Evo that was amazing and could have fail safes programmed), and then the best of course open source like EvoScan,,,,,
Anyway, I would like to start logging my stock e63. Any recommendations? Thanks

i have tried a bunch of obd loggers and they are all horrible. Benz world of logging is a slow paced and quiet area.
but this software works great, multiple parameters and doesn't freeze or crash.
Its 300$ but works well and worth the money.

HP tuners MPV2 obd with their VCM scanner, is the datalog software and hardware i use.

Agreed with the poor options on the MB platform. What is the HP Tuners "pro version" and is it worth it? I am hoping the HP Tuners MPV2 allows you to log locally and then review on a PC / Mac? How does the standard version connect to a PC (and will it work with a Mac)? Thanks

You use their VCM scanner software which you download.. 300$ gets you their OBD plugin and cable to connect to your PC via USB.
I use it on PC, im not sure if it works on mac. You log when your computer connect, press record and you preset all the parameters you want before hand, save the datalog when your done, and you can review and graph it afterwards, etc.
Here is a graphed version of my datalog using HP tuners, RPM, THROTTLE, BOOST, IGN TIMING..
You can datalog, IAT's, oil ,coolant temps, Knock retard per cylinder, Wastegate duty cycle ( great to check for turbo leaks and turbo health), LT and ST fuel trims , AFR, and Fuel rail pressure which ins the 2800PSI level at full throttle.
Boost or manifold pressure, is graphed as ABSOLUTE PSI, so you have to subtract Atmospheric pressure 14.7 from your total boost in the graph to get you GAUGE PSI, which is what we are all used to. My log is a WOT 3rd gear, 4th gear is usually ideal.
My current tune you can see the clean timing with no drop outs, and im peaking at about 17-18PSI tapering to 12PSI by redline.
Of course, ignore everything else besides the WOT pull, hence i added accelerate pedal parameter to the graph.

Hey guys, just to touch on some of the point brought up the Pro version is recommended if you plan on hooking up any analog signals such as a wideband. You can see all of the differences in features here (https://forum.hptuners.com/showthrea...ure-Set-Update) although keep in mind some of them are not available yet.
For now you will need your laptop to do the logging however when the additional features are available for Pro there will be standalone data logging.

I ordered the MPV12 a few days ago and have not received a tracker. Also, tried connecting with a human as to questions regarding the Pro version, which proved impossible.
