best plugs for a tuned E63
Im looking for spark plugs to get my 2013 E63 tuned. Want to make sure I don't have issues after the tune and they don't foul on me. What's everyone's experience with plugs here and what works best. I was told just to change out the plugs and ill be fine by a couple of tuners. The car is stock other then high flow filters and tune is all I'm gonna do to it.

Stock plugs with 0.022 gap works well for me

I’ve ran stock plugs at 0.022 gap and currently run the ngk plugs at 0.022. Both should be sufficient I’ve noticed a little smoother idle with the ngk’s though.

Currently running NGKs as well. They're 2 steps colder than the stock plug and I'm very happy with them. I definitely recommend them. They're about $120/set on Amazon. In trying to tune this car to Max the stock turbos so we'll see how long they hold up.

Interesting....I went with the ngk 97506 and it looks exactly like the 1555... is there a difference between the two? I thought the 97506 was the only ngk 2 step colder plug that has the same exact dimensions as the stock plugs...I have mine gapped at 0.24 but it seems .22 is where most people are setting the gap at so ima change it to that lol...

Can folks confirm OE, 1 step, and 2 step colder part #s:
Amazon claims this plug is OE for 2014 e63s:
I've also been told the BMW N20 is a good plug to use, but I don't know anything about the plug or specifications.

I ran iridium one step colder and gapped at .024 and ran perfect with tune/ UPD cold air intake kit and under drive pulley.

when i check the compatibility chart on amazon says its not for my car. These will work on a 2013 E63? also i just got a tune ran fine for a few miles and now have hesitation tuner says i need colder plugs can i run a octane booster in the meantime till i get another set of plugs.

First things first, if the car won't start after the tune, or starts and runs for a bit and then won't start again, this issue is the immobilizer getting tripped in the tune process. Just disconnect the battery (engine bay) for ~ 10 minutes, reconnect, and you will be fine. This will be just a one time occurrence.
If you're car is is running poorly when you are driving it under WOT, it might be your plugs. If the plugs are old and you are running a lot of boost, you may experience spark issues and may need newer plugs with a tighter gap. When replacing plugs, people often go 1 or 2 steps colder based upon the performance modifications they have done. That said, if all you have is a tune and intake filters, stock plugs could be fine. Your tuner should be able to tell you.
If adding octane boost helps your situation / solves your problem, then the issue is not likely your plugs. Rather you are experiencing knock and your engine is pulling timing as a result of the knock count. When the car pulls a ton of timing it will feel weak and may run rough or stumble.
Hope this helps. Good luck

What octane are you running ... 91 or 93; what is the tune mapped for ... higher octane?
Do you have bad or old gas in the car?
