Possible purchase of 2016 E63s today. Help this Newb

Hey there. I’ve been a member here for many years. I wasn’t able to get my AMG due to the high cost so I bought an 2016 E400 and been loving it since then

so now I have an opportunity to possibly buy the Beast. E63s. I just need to know if I should do it

yes loaded question. I mean like is the W212 a good platform to own for not to many big problems.

I wanted to thank Boseephuss. For replying in another thread with a ton of links about issues with the W212 E63

my question is during the test drive in 4 hours what should I look out for?

I’ll got a case of the gitters, but hope to be a part of this great AMG Club.

one car at a time
Find a well maintained, non-abused car and get a PPI. Then add a warranty for ~$3.5K and you should be relatively worry free (assuming you can afford maintenance).

E63s AMG
I would do it coming from an E550 W212. It’s night and day with the E63s AMG. It’s an awesome saloon car all packed in one. And you can say you are part of the AMG fam .

I came from 2014 e550 sedan and loved the move. Have no regrets! You obv read my list of things to check out so review that and it'll be in there

top things
- alignment, steering groans, clicking at speed, any type of acceleration hesitation, check engine codes, shift harshness up and down shifting for normal driving
- leaks, tire wear, brake life, shimmy in steering or rotor unevenness, malfunction dash warnings, start up rattling from engine

Be sure you look into the cost of brakes on the E63s. Carbon Ceramic?

2018 S560 and 2019 E450 Wagon.
for a MB warrantee it has to still be under factory warranty and most aftermarket warrantees are not worth it. I generally deal with Santa Rosa MB (Erin) on my warrantees, she is great and can save you some money but it must either be under factory or if a certified warranty still exists you can extent that for a couple of years for around 4 grand.
