E63S | All in the details
Enjoy guys.
We will start with a picture of my pride and joy.. Showing off her 20% tint. Also can see the tow plate mount, after a bunch of tickets here in NY, i had to install a plate -__-
Every AMG comes with 2 of these new from the factory in the car as a present. If you are a second owner and want one, there is the part number on the case it comes in
AMG badge on the front grill. 2014's dont come with the small AMG badge on the front grill, so i purchase an oem Badge and use 3M adhesive to stick it on the exact OEM location
Keeping the pano roof tracks clean and lubed is important. Here is the oem lubricating paste in the small bottle to the left. The oem antifriction psate to the right in the small jar, ECS tuning sells it in this small jar as Benz only sells big jars of it for very expensive price. The instructions listed behind the products.
Nobody likes a dirty engine, removing some of the items to get in those hard to reach places with some detailer spray and detailing brushes

Used Leatherique leather cleaner with some leather brushes to get the seats clean and factory matte again

Little sonax to clean the suede on the steering wheel, works great.. Use a stiff brush to lightly brush the hair on the suede to make it feel like new once it has dried.
Removed the wheels and cleaned the calipers with some iron X and brushes.Sealed them with sealant aswell. Also used some 0000 fine steel wool on the dust sheilds and hubs to clean them up.
New OEM sized Michelin pilot super sports and a Mercedes dealer wheel alignment.
OEM black wheel locks
Changed out the front main battery and rear aux battery as preventative maintenance. Was a easy DIY job.
Front battery has a small tab holding it on the bottom front via 1 bolt, passenger side of the battery has a vent that needs to be pulled out on the top of the battery.
Remove the POS and NEG cables and up and out.
Remember, our hoods can be pushed to 90 degrees straight up for servicing items like this and for easier work in the engine bay. Just push the hood past its normal seating position and it will go to the service position.
Aux battery in the trunk is mostly the same as the main battery.
Vent on the top of the battery just pulls out, neg and pos cables get removed, and then a nut holds a bracket that goes over the battery to secure it, remove nut and unfold bracket up.
Many guys forget to change the diff fluid in our LSD's. Its easy and worth to do.
Fill and draing plugs.. 3 bottles of oem fluid (pricey) and some liquid thread sealant from your local auto parts store to put on the threads of the fill and drain bolts when re-installing.
I bought new drain and fill plugs just to be on the safe side, a dot of sealant on the threads each, fill until the fluid begins to slowly come out the fill hole, and close her up.
If your a DIY guy and use a hydraulic jack, this is a must have. This slide up into the oem jack points and because it has small spring tensioned *****, it holds its place until u remove it. So you just slide the back under your car and now it has a nice flat surface to jack from using your at home hand hydraulic jack. Via https://www.reverselogic.us/mercedes_jack_pad.html
OEM AMG door puddle lights.. Expensive units but nice detail at night.
One of the most important items, HP tuners datalogger

This is a must have for every E63 and or benz owner. Carly for benz code reader.. Keep this in my glovebox to read and delete codes in every module in the car using the APP on your phone. Great little device to have!
Also got an extra code reader that can read some values like airmatic air pressure, height, AC pressure, trans temp, etc etc.
OEM license plate frames of course
OEM battery trickle charger for those winter months snowed in and those summer vacations.
Got these paddle shifters off Amazon, im actually VERY impressed with the fitment and quality. Not 100% sure i like them, but very nice for 30-40$ shipped.
For all the DIY and work i do on my car i use the factory oem WIS workshop manual. Also includes the EPC parts catalog to search for parts and part #'s.

I apologize for the multiple questions, but would love to get your input:
- Where did you buy the tow plate mount? I've been reading that some can cause issues with the front sensors; have you experienced any issues with it?
- Where did you buy the AMG badge from? Could you please share the part number?
- Have you looked into replacing the trans fluid/ filter and the front diff fluid?

2.) The AMG badge is oem.. P\N: A2128170700
3.) The trans oil, i will be doing in the spring time. i have very low miles, below the miles called for a trans oil change, but the years have added up, and im due in terms of time.
the job isnt so hard to due at all. You need a tq wrench for the pan bolts, new bolts, as they are one time use, new filter etc. But the harder part of all this is the fill part. You fill via the drain bolt, using a special fill adapter, with a fill tank that is pressurized. They go for anywhere from 50-200$ for a hand pump with adapter.
But you also need a OBD scan tool to connect to the OBD and to show trans oil temp, as benz states the trans oil needs to be a specific temp before checking if it is filled to the correct oil capacity.
The front diff, im gonna lave alone in terms of maintenance of a fluid change.. There is a drain on the bottom of the front diff. But to re-fill.. Tech sheet says the inter shaft needs to be removed and filled via the front axle shaft opening, to fill with exact amount required. That is alot of work for very very little fluid change. Or you can drain and fill via the drain bolt on the bottom, but you risk the chance of not filling to exact specs, as you remove the fill hose, to put the drain plug in, fluid will come out.
Because
Might be worth while at higher miles to change it out, but not until something like 100K miles TBH.

Also read about the front diff oil being difficult to fill. I do agree that it might not be worth it. Good to hear your input.

Not sure if they are still selling them, at the time i bought mine, benz told me these are becoming a factory option only, and not for order. They do wierd things like that sometimes.
Here is the P/N: A2138206003
I believe the price was around 200-300$
