I'm looking at a 2014 AMG wagon with the matte white cashmere finish paint...

Is this paint durable...? the finish looks good but this car will likely be parked outside as I don't have enough room in the garage...

Thinking about a cover also... any thoughts if these are any good on cars parked outside

 

IMO, Matte white is a pain to care for. Can't really scrub the paint hard at all to take off stuck on junk. You end up polishing the spot and it is noticeable when you look at it at the right angle. I'd garage the matte paint car and leave the car with clear coat outside.

 

Just buy a good clean car and do a matte wrap

 

I have matte white and I love it! its soooooo easy to clean and the paint looks 100% all the time!

There is a higher level of care involved, and you definitely should garage it. It can only be hand washed. You can't buff out any imperfections. I use a line from Chemical Guys specifically for matte finishes.

That said, the color is stunning in person.

 

thanks for comments... I do love the color but garage is full with some other cars with a higher priority... since this will be just a road trip car, I'm thinking about just keeping it at my office's private parking garage...
