I’m looking at getting a 2011 e63. It was first at the original dealer in May of 2011. Do you think that that is after the new head bolts where used? It looks like a really nice car and would be the fifth AMG car that I will have bought. I still have my SL55 and it is still my all time favorite car.

A vehicle at the dealer in May of 2011 was built in early 2011 or in 2010. Seems like it would be in the window for the head bolt situation. Or very close, enough to warrant careful consideration before buying the vehicle.

There is a thread on this forum about the vins that have head bolt problem. You can check the vin on the car. I checked my 2011 and it was ok. That was years ago and I don't know where the thread is now.

You can check your engine on the official head bolt bulletin page. I ran the vin you provided and your engine was released after they fixed the head bolt issue.
You can check for yourself on the link below as you will need the engine serial number to check the issue..

Thanks for the help. It looks like the car I’m looking at getting is not affected by the head bolt issue. The last six numbers of the vin are higher than 060658. The last number on it are 067246. Again thank you. This forum has always been very helpful.
