anyone know how to remove these exhaust trim pieces on the w212 e63 so you can get access to the chrome exhaust tips and polish them? it drives me nuts how filthy mine are at 35k miles!

I've read you have to drop the exhaust to remove the chrome tips completely which are bolted on to the exhaust.

i think you can sufficiently clean most of the exhaust tips by removing this exhaust trip piece if i can figure that out. the exhaust rip piece is Mercedes-Benz (212-885-45-21) and is what the photo here shows. looks like it just clips on but i messed with it today for about 30 mins with a plastic trim removal tool and couldnt get it off without bending the part... thx

It is not bolted to the exhaust on my car.... However I do not know how to remove them.

That assembly comes off as all one piece from the inside of the bumper, as far as i know, via bolts and i believe the exhaust gets in the way from completely removing it.
