I own 3 Japanese imports at the moment (2 Mercs and one really old VW) and keep hunting for them at local lots - living in Dubai I have a great opportunity to review one every week since the market is flooded with these ... . One thing I can say they do look pretty and the interior/exterior will be in pristine condition. And that;s all. It appears that Japanese folks cut corners on maintenance - be it longer than usual oil change intervals (you can always dig the history though) or supply less than OE quality replacement parts... Standard practice is to skim disks 3 or 4 times and suspension will be usually a junk... also the paint job is usually decent - if the car was in an accident, it usually means some cosmetic scratch, not a structural damage (haven't seen a non-OEM weld on these cars). Prepare to replace all brushing, rubber suspension elements, etc.

Also NTG is a pain, since Japan uses proprietary unit that cannot be replaced unless you manage to get the entire wiring swapped and coded. Not sure if this makes sense from financial standpoint. Lamps can usually be converted with STAR (or with a switch if we are talking about 2009 gen S class / 2006 E class).

with all that being said: worth it. You buy with your eyes. And the car looks brand new by European standards...

@Binbuty thanks for the shop hint! too good to be true, but I'll go there as soon as the quarantine is over ;-) Thanks!

Quick advice if you are searching for E63 -> setup a search query on dubicars to receive a daily summary of new offers with "E63" in the name... sooner or later something shows up. Add 10-15k AED as the starting pack - new tyres, major inspection, suspension work, etc... luckily parts are available without having to depend on local stealership. Enjoy!
