I have a 2016 E63 AMG S and am trying to find a high quality/OEM quality replacement emblem for my grill. Oddly enough it appears that some cars have come from factory with different versions. Does anyone know what the distinction is? It is hard to understand if it is tied to specific model years because some W213 have the same version I have as well and W212 14-16 seem to be all different.
It mostly depends upon if the car is equipped with Distronic or not -- cars with it use a different grille emblem than those without. The cars in the two photos have Distronic, but not sure what yours has since the pic isnt there.

Weird - the pic of yours didn’t show up at first but does now; that and the second pic of the style your car has is in fact the emblem for non-Disteonoc equipped cars. I’m not sure the emblems themselves are interchangeable — the actual impending may be different. Maybe someone here can confirm. Mine has Distronic, so I’ve never tried to swap them.
