Question Straight Pipes

I have a W212 E63 S and I want to straight pipe it from the cat back, wondering if anyone knows of any brands that make a good catback exhaust or if I need to get pipes custom fabricated. Either one works for me, I have people that can fab up some pipes, just not sure if that is recommended or not.

just go to a decent muffler shop and ask them to do it, spend a little extra and get stainless-steel pipes.

Did you have to get a Tune? Did you get Check Engine Light with Cat Delete? Any smell? Thanks.

yeah, I wish I could have used them on my 550, but I was very happy with the quality of my MBH's.

Are you using a Tune or O2 sensors to defeat the Check Engine Light? Thanks.

I was running the catless pipes and had the monitors turned on and did not get any codes. I was just re-tuned last week, I'm not sure if the monitors are still on or not. I can throw the scanner on it and see if monitors are "complete" or "not-ready" and post back here. I might be able to do it during lunch, if not, it'll be tomorrow.

I've heard people having good luck with the "O2 Extenders", but I'm not even sure if we need them or not.

What did you do the 2012 550 to hit 11.6? when I was just tuned and middle res delete with 2 magna flows best I could do was 12.6 here in Cali on 100oct. I am running OE tune but now I have downpipes and upd intake spacers but have not hit the strip in about 2 years. You can send me a pm if you want.

Anyone interested in the RSEs should contact Shardul. There is a thread on here where he says he gets them at a better price. I was looking at those myself (Just can't justify spending $ on a car I dun drive as of right now). They look nice and there are options for Cats, super high flow cats and also heat shielding.

Thanks again for your reply. As I just posted. I have been looking at Downpipes and been feeling ambivalent about the expenditure... also about the potential CEL and other associated headaches that come with car tuning (What's the point of doing downpipes with Cats however ultramegahyperflow they may be?). Thanks again for the info. Glad to know there are tunes that can turn off CEL (As all tunes should. Instead of having to resort to spacers)
