New to me '12 w212 wagon - questions
Seems this car was built in Canada and then brought to the states. Part of bringing it here and registering it was to replace the KMH cluster with the MPH cluster and the manual speedo doesn't go past 45. The digital speedo is spot on.
Questions:
1) Can all the temps be converted from F to C (cluster, climate, etc)
2) Is there something physically wrong with my cluster? Is a replacement necessary or can this be fixed?
3) at 97k miles, what should I be looking at replacing for preventative maintenance.
Lastly, does anyone recommend a good indy merc mechanic in San Diego.
Thanks!

Regarding maintenance, the MY12 Maintenance Booklet contains most of what you are looking for. Match that with the vehicle maintenance records, and you have a plan. Unless you have a reason to believe that your vehicle sustained excessive wear, like racing/tune, you do not need to preemptively replace things. You can safely follow the booklet. There is a point of mileage vs. time. Spark plugs, for example, do not lose properties over time, only from use. Therefore, do not worry about years, go by miles. However, fluids deteriorate over time (detergents break down, system contamination, moisture), and so you do not want to keep them longer than stated despite mileage. The service booklet is your friend. Use it. Hope this helps.
