A/C Condenser

Are AC leaks common on this platform or did I just get lucky needing to replace my A/C condenser? This will be the first time I have needed one in 30 years and 20+ cars of different makes.

$2300 bill.

I am very sorry to hear of your misfortune, specially during a time like this... to get struck by an unexpected $2300 repair bill. I have been browsing on this forum basically nightly since late 2017 and this is the first time I see a post about this (so, if this is common I haven't seen people post about it... at least in the time I have been on here).
I too was the lucky recipient of an unexpected $1500 bill for an issue no one on the boards seem to have ever heard of. My headlights simply decided to crap out one day. Multiple error codes. "This high bean doesn't work, that low beam doesn't work, that turn signal doesn't work". Car had just over 30K. Garage kept. Driven only occasionally. Barely ever driven in rain. Dealership said there was "chafed wire(s)" after they kept my car for a whole week and had to remove the bumper cover. "These car are complex and things just break"... you know what my response was to that.

It has become common on alot of modern cars in general, i know my BMW F10, this was very common and every owner expected to replace it sooner or later.

W212 it is not common for them to leak.
Was your leaking from a defect or a foreign object and impact damaging it?
