looking to buy 2015 e63s wagon
Your opinion on CAN e63

Hi all!
e63 2015 42k miles, performance package (no ceramics)... with 6month left CPO ... for sale from the dealer at 45k. One owner, commercial.

Seems too good to be true. I saw the inspector report... all it ok with it.
Seems to me like I could drive it for 2-3 years and resell it south of the border (US) and likely break even... what's the deal? the price gap between CAN/US is around 10k from my research (although the sample size is always small... rare car)

thoughts? (i'd get a 3rd party warranty 5yr 100k miles if I pull the trigger)

Everyone I talked to about e63's said they avoid Canadian cars like the plague mainly due to corrosion issues. Oddly, 60-75% of all the wagons I found were here from Canada and they sit on the market a lot longer too.

There are a bunch of hoops to jump through to sell a Canadian car in the U.S. You have to legally import the car including putting it through testing that it meets compliance, and so forth. You can google the regulations.

I never got close enough to purchase a canadian car, but I had heard that some of the features will not work properly if the car is brought to the US. Is this correct?

All the features of our Canadian E63s seem to work when we do a road trip in the USA.

Have imported cars to Canada, but not the opposite. Pretty easy to bring a car across the border to Canada. Just paperwork and $100 fee.

CDN Wagons are interesting if you can find one from the west coast. They have cargo tracks in the trunk and rear climate control standard. Both are not options on US cars. Everything else is the same.

For anyone looking for an E63, run the vin on carfax and if it is Canadian, look at the underside of the car, the aluminum parts on the engine and the wheel lugs and brake hardware. Those are the key areas that you will see issues with corrosion. That is why I passed on the matte white 2014 E63 wagon at the NJ dealer. They wouldn't even send me undercarriage photos and ignored my questions on the corroded valve covers. They also have speedometers in KM which should be converted.

NOt everything else is the same. CDN : no "Max AC" button.
Also, can not have air flowing at feet and face forward at the same time.

e63 wagon 2014
I have a 2015 wagon that did 40k miles in Canada. Had it checked out. No rust underneath, wheel hubs had some red rust wear but that was easy to clean up with a wire brush.

Just because it is from Canada does not mean it’s a bad car but be more cautious

True for mine...except...temperatures are in Celsius. Just slightly annoying.
