How to disable distronic entirely to get rid of the distronic grill?

How to disable distronic entirely to get rid of the distronic grill?
I want to disable distronic entirely on my car to change grills. I cannot find any definitive information on how to do this and apologize if this has been covered. I tried a search first. Car is a 2012 e63 wagon.

I guess you may need to code that, with xentry/star. I'm not sure though. Fairly new to MB, but that is what you would do on a JLR.

As a likely easier solution, just keep your distronic and modify the star to fit the new grill. That's what I did when I installed the panamericana style grille in my E63.
