I'm curious as to what the diff specs are and who makes them(Brand/Size/Etc). Also, Is the front and rear the same sized ring gear, or is the front smaller? Looking to possibly regear my 550 for more acceleration. I know the E550 and E63 use the same gears and housings so those should swap right in. My car is 2.47:1, E63 4matics are 2.65:1 so that would be helpful, but I'm looking to take it further than that if possible. maybe 2.87:1 diffs from E350 4matic??? Thinking if the axles are different, I might be able to swap the 2.87 ring and pinion from the E350 into my housing/carrier? Still a lot of work to do and parts to track down and verify, but I am a curious fellow... Thinking I should be able to take advantage of this since I have TCU tune, but not sure if it's even possible to do a gear swap??
