Hi Everyone,

I'm fairly certain I want to go back to the AMG family as my next daily driver (all cards on the table, I am considering an F80 M3 as an option purely because of pricing). I used to have a W204 C63, which served me well. But it was a different time in my life. I now have a 3 year old, and a new baby on the way, so am in need of something that can carry 4 people (getting rid of my F-Type R). I live in the Northeast, so yes there is some winter weather, but I work from home even before COVID so I only drive to/from daycare and stores, nothing major, and the wife has an AWD SUV if weather is really bad. The back seats will basically have car seats in them permanently until I get rid of the car. I typically keep my cars for around 2-3 years. I'm considering a 2014-2015 E63S, as well as a 2015-2016 C63S.

I am working with around $50k budget. I've test driven both, but cannot decide what I like better between the two as they both have their distinct advantages and disadvantages.


W212 E63S: It is bigger and can hold more things in the trunk if needed, 4matic would be great to have. But it is an older car at $50k, and would have higher miles, older interior, maybe looks a bit dated since the new one is out.
W205 C63S: I like the newer style, newer interior, exhaust noise is a big part of the experience for me and I feel like the AMG performance exhaust was better than the E63S (which I don't think had this option for the generation I am looking at), and the smaller wheelbase made me feel more connected tot he car. Can get a newer car with less miles at $50k. But it is a smaller vehicle, no 4Matic, next gen C63 right around the corner so maybe the values will plummet hard.

Does anyone know if the normal maintenance is more/less between the two? Oil Changes, Brakes, etc.?

Has anyone gone from one to the other and have any feedback? Which one would you pick an why? I'll post this on the C63 forum as well.

i too live in the northeast and just bought an e63. even if you dont drive much i couldnt risk a rwd as my only means of transportation around here
i cant speak to the c63 but the e63 is a big, comfortable, fast car and would recommend it. i sold my f type, s4 and m3 and will daily the e63 for now
