TCU updates?
I recall reading in a recent thread that the TCU mod was in some cases breaking shafts/axles if super aggressive on the launch. Did this all get worked out? Were there any recent adjustments to the tune to allows hard launches and still stay below the breaking point? Am I just talking out of my behind???
The New Year brings new motivation to some mods on the car, this probably being at the top of the list.
Thanks,

Thanks,
Glad you brought up this topic again, as I was just re-reading a couple of old threads about the EC TCU tune and really contemplating on getting it. I wonder if the price is still $1800?
Eurocharged has it listed for $2k, bummer would hope it would be a little cheaper after the early adopters!

I think it was in this thread... but I read a lot of threads on a lot of forums so I caveat all this to say I could be dreaming this.

Definitely wont have a problem with sticky tires as this is my daily. Brake boosting... isnt that kinda the point for the TCU tune, better launch using BB than RS?
I remember back in the day wheel hop breaking axles on those high HP Honda FWD. Turbo Magazine and Sport Compact Car, man I would spend hours reading and re-reading each issue.
This all might be a better question for the tuner, I'm guessing they can set any TQ limit you want and hopefully have sufficient data to say what is safe under all conditions. Not to be a pantywaist but I need my car to stick around a little while, at least until it's paid off!

Solve that problem, then something else breaks! Better a shaft than something inside the tranny.
In the boating world you have guys running high HP motors and barking the props in and out of waves. Similar to wheel hop that loading and unloading creates enormous stress on the lower units and gears are blowing through the cases. They probably wish something like a shaft or hub would break first to go easier on the wallet.

Why not limit line lock power to slightly above stock levels under let's say 4500rpms,this way its enough to get out of the hole quicker, but not has harsh to break anything , then increase pressure at redline for quicker shifts?

If you stay conservative in your tune and happy with 10.9 10.8 you can brake boost at 2300-2500 all day back to back. If your tune is aggressive don’t break boost past 1500 and you can pull 10.5 10.6 all day issue free. But keep in mind output shaft were break before tcu tune as well. I have 107 k miles on my tranny before the output shaft went. Found a used tranny for 1300 with low miles . I popped
it in and was good to go. I had bigger tires and tried to push a really high break boost when mine went. My fault

Good info Cifdig, I'd honestly be happy with 11.0, just enough to stay dangerous on the street - no intent on taking to the track or chasing PB's.
