All season tires for ny? Accelera Phi-2 vs Otani KC2000

Hey, just purchased a stock set of amg
10 spoke wheels for my 2015 w218 cls63, fronts 255 35 19, rears 285 30 19. I live in new york and im looking for a set of tires that i can run year round (all seasons). I stumbled upon all season tires such as the Accelera Phi-2 and the Otani KC2000 and wondered if they are any good? Is one of them necessarily better than the other? The prices on both are very attractive but do they get the job done; Performance/safety wise, and being able to drive on a road without sliding too much going straight or even making a slow turn, or slipping while climbing/entering a driveway with moderate snow on it that the car could easily clear with the right tires. Am i better off going with continental dws06 or another tire? cant find any good deals on the big name tires. My old set of vertini 20’ dynasty that i ran on my cls had Pirelli p zero nero gt summer tires, i have had too many close calls driving on them in the NY winter to say the least.

thanks!!

Truthfully, all season tires are garbage, especially on 63 AMG's. You want two sets. if you're driving year round. Sorry, it's just the truth.

Driving P-zero's in the winter is irresponsible.

If you insist on 1 tire year round Michelin A/S 3+

Never heard of Accelera or Otani tires.

Continental DWS06
Michelin Pilot All Season 4
Bridgestone 980AS

The tires are what connects the car to the ground. Spend a bit more.

Have P-Zeros on 3 different vehicles, and will be replacing them all with either the Bridgestone or Michelin depending on if a particular size that I need is available.

This. There is zero point to buying a top tier AMG and then what puts you to the ground is something you'd put on a kia soul.

I have a set of A/S 3+ and honestly, they are terrible in the slightest hint of snow. They slip and slide everywhere, almost like summer tires, and howls aggressively on smooth roads. Next winter, I'm getting a set of dedicated snow tires and a separate set for summer.

Yeah, kind of what I was pointing at above and saying if it is an absolute must then get a brand name tire. These cars really needed dedicated sets of summer/winter tires.

If that's how your Michelins are in the snow, can you imagine what the cheap off brand tire would be like? In a NY winter? Forget the performance you are leaving behind when it's driving season...

You'll enjoy your car so much more with dedicated snows. If you drive a car in the winter I highly recommend Nokian Hakkapeliitta's. I had the hakka r2's on my RS4 for a winter and that car was untouchable in the snow. The most memorable winter driving car I've ever had. I had to make an emergency trip around 2 or 3 am in a blizzard where the plows weren't doing the highways and there was a full 4 or 5 inches of snow on the roads --- car just tore through it as though it was a summer day and 75 out.

dedicated winter tires is the only thing i can recommend. i drove a 600rwhp 335i in the snow with winter tires without issues. rwd NO LSD and got around perfectly fine minus a few side streets that had snow past my front bumper

Cannot say enough GREAT things about the Nokian winter tires

Have had my fair share of Nokians.
Hakka 4 studded
LT3 studded
R2
R3 <--- currently on the E63

Daily drove a C63 with Goodyear Ultragrip WRT winter tires. ZERO issues making it to work, through snow storms. Regularly made it up one particular road to work that SUVs with all-seasons would not make it up. As above the only time it became an issue was when the snow was 6 inches or deeper.

Hear great things about the Continental winter tires too.

Have also used the Michelin X-ice 1, 2, and 3s.

Lots of people I work with are very happy with Blizzaks, but they definitely wear faster. You get excellent ICE grip when they are new, but I still prefer the Nokians. (which are MUCH better in snow).

Thank you guys ended up going with the new continental dws06 plus tires that just came out. I had The previous generation continental dws06 tires on my ‘12 cls63 rwd which were fantastic aside from not Being able to push as fast when giving gas compared to the Continental contisport contact summer tires that i previously had on them.

Built 2008 G55 & one big 80 Series LandCruiser !
NOKIA'sif you drive in real snow and can swing a dedicated setup..... it's RWD and 500+ hp..... heck I'd even get them studded if you can.... I ran a set of doubled studded Nokia's on my built RS6 when I lived in VT and it was wonderful..... albeit horriblly skatelike on dry pavement, but that was rare that year......

Once you try snow tires in the winter, there's no going back.

All season tires are what's on the car in the front of the line of traffic going over the pass. Don't be that guy.
To add: All season tires are what's on the car that can't stop and now he's sliding past you sideways in the line of traffic going downhill that had to stop because the guy at the front of the line slid sideways (remember that guy?) into the snowbank. Don't be that guy.

This. Get P Zero's or Pilots for the summer and Sottozeros for the winter. This is the way.

Hmmm, wonder if the first poster is a troll?
Buy a 600HP car, then save $300 on tires? Makes absolutely no sense.

If the OP is for real - see this post - Michelin for what it's worth.

Long winter tire thread - search may be a friend!

FF. W212 E63 M156 non-pano 18" P2 ParkT NightV (gone but will be missed).
Agree with at least get a major name brand tire.

Hey some tires are all season with severe-snow service designation, ie Vred Quatrac. BTW, Conti DWS06 just came out with improved "Plus" last month but description of it didn't mention anything about soft sidewall improvement; I've heard that's the neg about DWS.

Yep, can not stand the sidewalls on the DWS06 on the W212. I have ran them on other cars and tolerated them but on the W212 it is pretty bad. I have a set I've had on for 5 months and have an appt to remove this week.
