2005 e55 amg

Thoughts ?

So I recently had my 2015 e63 amg in the shop to have filters dyno tune and they gutted the factory Downpipes they also put in new plugs. The car has done 39,000 kms. I posted dyno results a few weeks ago. Anyway I was driving the other day and noticed loss of power then engine light came on and car was violently missfirng and shuttering. Had it towed back to shop where they diagnosed it to be a bad coil pack so I replaced all of them and yes car is between now. But is this normal or just a a coincidence ?

Which # coil pack was it? I've had this happen on a stock car, replaced the one bad pack and no problems since.

I’m not 100% yet I think I recall it being number 5 . I just replaced all of them seeing as though one went I figured the others would follow suit

common issue. Im still stock and plan on flashing the car soon. Already have 8 coils and 8 plugs sitting in a box that i will replace before i do the flash. Its bound to happen and will happen.

#5 coil is right next to the turbo so it takes a ton more heat from the turbo causing the coil to degrade and you’ll see misfire issues. Just replace it, or if needed swap #5 with #6 coil and it will go away which I’ve done while waiting for new coils.
