Upgrade ‘14 E63s or buy ‘18 E63s
The other thought is to trade in for a used 2018 with 20-30k miles. I like the look incl the 20 inch tires and the additional bells and whistles and interior.
One concern is that my 2014 extended warranty just ran out and I’m due the service B. The thought of paying out of pocket for any repairs is not pleasant. I would likely get an extended warranty on the 2018.
Any input on above considerations is much appreciated
Since you owned it for some time, you are pretty familiar with the car and the issues it might have. Don't think there's anything wrong with the suspension, more than likely it's the tires.
Tires $1600 with alignment
Service B: $6-900 give and take?
Possible extended warranty: 3/36000 miles another $4000
Total: $6,000-$7,000 if you were to keep this car for another 3 years:
Now if you were to sell your car, I don't think you would get more than $37-40,000 for the car
2018:
Lovely car and love the interior.
How do you know the car won't need tires or any services soon? The car might have some other hidden agendas too, who knows.
Anyways,
The purchase price would be at least $80,000 ( on the lower side)
warranty: 5/60K... approx $5000
Miscellaneous expense: $1500
Total: $87,000
So it's your decision to pay $7000 more and keep the car for another 3 years or upgrade the current car and pay another $40,000 +/-
