it was worth the cash to me and that's all that matters -- the low end grunt is nice and that BOV like whooping noise is amazing!!!
the highway is where this thing shines .. a very noticeable non placebo feeling of extra power past 40mph is just awesome .. I'll try to get some dragys on Sunday
Thanks to vrodman and jvakos for install tips - took me 18 minutes only to install
no CEL

The AMS Carbon Fiber intake kit is $4K and a fairly complex install and you have the other end of the spectrum with the UPD Intake spacer kit w/Green filters for $400. You dont see many (if any) of the top fastest M157/E63 cars running those (according to Dragy) as it seems almost all use the BB Intakes.
I have the BB Intakes and they're fantastic, worth every penny from a performance perspective and ease of installation (you can do it your self - and YES you will notice the performance benefits within the first 2-4 weeks of driving the car and allowing the ECU to adapt.
I agree with you that the aesthetics of the kit arent as pretty as the AMS carbon, but they are 1/3 the price and (in my opinion) probably double the performance benefit. Plus Jose at BB provides amazing service so if you buy one of these he will be there to help you get it installed properly.
