So I've been on the fence about getting a custom tune for my e63. Been leaning towards eurocharged for the longest, but the price tag of a custom tune on pump gas is somewhat whack. Maybe I'm just not used to paying 2k+ for tunes
So here comes BnzHaus. They are a shop in Lincolnshire il and specialize in Mercedes only, nothing else. They built the silver e63s that ran the cannonball back in 2019. They are also a blackboost dealer and their tuner has met with Jose from blackboost/boosted benz as they are working on a project together. His tunes are full flash tunes with datalogs(optional handheld if need be) They adjust all the settings and dial the car in to real world driving VS dyno tuning. They currently have one of the quickest Gla45 amg in the country, and are about to upgrade the turbo and heat exchanger to a blackboost product. They seem very knowledgeable about there cars and coming in at 1500 for a custom stage 2 tune is very tempting.
The tuner (Robert) has tuned multiple Porsche vehicles, a bunch of other Mercedes models including owners m275 sl65 and has been tuning for some time now. Any thoughts on this? I would somewhat be a guniea pig on this as there doesn't seem to be any e63s local running his tunes(from my knowledge). They also have software available for tcu tuning as well, which I'm not sure how that works VS the competitors and how hard it is to get the actual software for it.

All 4 of my AMGs have been tuned by Eurocharged and I've been nothing but delighted with each [w211 E55, w211 E63, w204 C63, and w212 E63S]. I also love the people, for what it is worth. Perhaps wait for their next tuning special before biting the bullet? I feel like Jake has posted them from time to time on facebook or otherwise.
I don't think that you have anything to gain from being a guinea pig or going with an unproven tuner, especially since the vehicle isn't new. If you were shopping name brand versus name brand, with reputable history tuning these vehicles, that is one thing -- but that is not the situation you have described.
