W212 e63 M156 engine cover star badge

My star emblem on my engine cover broke. All the little pins that hold it onto the engine cover snapped. I was wondering if anyone knows any alternative options to cover the hole on the engine cover. Normally small stuff like that doesn't bother me but it looks so..... Not clean when I pop my hood and reveal the engine, so much it bothers me lmao. Just looking for some alternatives. I've read that most places will make you spend $200 bucks for a whole new engine cover because that's the only way to get the star. But I feel like for everyone out there with this issue there has got to be some sort of alternative solution to this issue lmao. Looking for a decent cheaper way to put a new badge on the engine!
Thank you,
-E63 Owner

I'm in the same boat... I have the CF cover sitting on a shelf because I can't bear to look in the engine bay without the emblem on the cover when I lift the hood.
sub'd for a cheap and easy solution as well

Honestly, you will get more answers in the W204 subforum; I've found support for my 156 motor questions much better over there.

Do you still have the emblem?

The pins on my CF M157 snapped off too so I just siliconed (or rtv'd) it back on. Still holding tight.

I bought my car with the emblem already gone... did an oil change and behold it was in the plastic belly... proceeded to destroy it trying to glue it with CA glue. no, don't do that. haha...

Have you checked around for a replacement one? Looks like FCP has some relatively cheap - not sure about fitment or location on the one below but I didnt look very long.

I trimmed the tabs off the back of a OEM wheel center cap and glued it in place when my engine cover star broke and it was too fragile to repair. The center cap size is perfect IMO.

When I had my C63 I had the same issue and just used a very thin layer of clear silicone around the underside of the emblem and stuck it back in place. Stayed there for the next 18 months until I T-boned a woman who failed to stop at a stop sign.
