A little late to the party, but I wanted to do my official first build. I am coming from an Audi Allroad and regret not doing a build, I will miss that car..
Purchased a 2012 E63 wagon, P30 package a few months ago, maybe a little more than I wanted to spend, but I'm okay with that. To me, it did not get delivered as advertised. The interior was maybe 8/10, and exterior was maybe a 7/10. It came a little too pimped out for me too, I like that OEM+ look, with a nice stance and maybe aftermarket wheels.
Plans:
Paint correction
Clear bra front end Remove tint and go with a lighter tint Coils front and lowering links rear
BC Forged MLE52 Wheels Respray calipers Porsche Speed Yellow Replace blacked out badges with OEM Chrome Remove carbon fiber front corner splitters Remove painted Renntech carbon fiber rear spoiler Treat interior with ColourLock Repair Alcantara on steering wheel Replace carbon fiber side mirrors with OEM white
Remove resonators or gut cats.. or install exhaust
Install Suvneer carbon fiber front spoiler (in hand, will install to see if looks good)
Install facelift taillights/bumper/exhaust tips
Installed:
Alpha carbon fiber intake system
Downpipes - not sure on make
AMS Tune
Rotiform SRG 3-Piece wheels (want to sell, DM me, willing to let go for a steal)
Michelin Pilot Sport 4S

Pics are kinda out of order, but you get the general idea of progress. 73k miles on the clock. gonna try to keep this as a weekend car. Not sure if I love the bike rack or not.. It looks **** on the Allroad. I think I'm just not 100% in love yet because of the wheels. They are freaking awesome wheels, with less than 1k miles... I just dont think they compliment the car, thats all. They were $1,700 a piece before tires. (not purchased by me, came with the sale of the car)
I agree, bike rack and racks generally look better on an Allroad. The Estate has more sophisticated lines and doesn't need all those boxes and racks on top. Love the progress that you're "reverting" back to. I'm not feeling those Rotiforms. I'm finding it hard to really come across a W212 with good looking aftermarket wheels. The only one I've seen that looks really good is jeffjacobson's (user on here) e63 sedan.

Pick up a pair of p30 wheels. They are the best looking wheel for the pre facelift E63.

IF I COULD EVEN FIND A SET! I agree, best looking wheel on this car. Would love to score a set for winter, although It probably wont see much driving in winter
valve covers were just resealed, timing chain tensioners, check valves, crank case vent and pipe were replaced as well. That was an expensive job! Should be good to go for a while
ECU died on the shop when they were driving it post work service... now needing a new ECU, im thinking maybe oil got into it? I had a pretty bad oil burning smell once I received the car, hence the service that was just done. I reached out to AMS and they said I could send them my new ECU and they will reflash at it NO CHARGE!, this is probably my biggest relief, tunes on these cars are not cheap!
how the car is currently, however wheels just sold so will be ordering some BC MLE52 wheels to replace. Car will be sitting for a while since the build time is over a month
