Sticky Parking Brake

Scheduled a service B with the dealer and thought would let them have a look at the sticky parking brake too.
Last time I used it, it took me several minutes to release the pedal and I haven't been using it ever since
While googling something else, came across this video and thought I would give it a try
The video is excellent and with in few minutes the problem solved and saved myself at least $300 if not more.
The brake working like a charm now.

I have the same issue and I think it is due to temperature

No issues during spring-fall but in the winter I have same problem where I pull it up with my feet to fully release. I think the grease inside the cable is the real problem and as weather warm up it will resolve. I had same issue on my 4Runner sunroof and it was the cable gelling inside during the winter.

FYI, if the e-brake handle is not fully retracted, the backup sensors are disabled. No idea why the system is wired that way.
